WHY WE EXIST
We are a youth centre based in Dunfermline high street but also reach out to 5 local high schools within a mile of our building. We engage with young people through music, media, arts, sports and general youth work.
We have been running in Dunfermline since 2014 and reach over 2000 young people a year, with youth clubs, free recording and media studios, large youth events, sports and schools outreaches and intensive group work and mentoring for vulnerable young people who have experienced trauma, family breakdown, deprivation and isolation.
The organisation's purposes are:
4.1. To provide or assist in the provision of facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation, sports, the arts or other leisure time occupation of individuals who need of such facilities by reason of their youth, financial hardship or social circumstances with the object of improving their conditions of life and which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals.
4.2 To Advance education through the development of personal skills, and through entry level qualifications and by provision of guidance, coaching, mentoring and advice including in matters relating to life management issues, life skills, employability and confidence building.
Our current Schedule each week is as below: Each week over 150 young people engage with our projects.
Mondays 4- 8 pm Young Volunteer Development
Tuesdays 3:30 - 7pm youth clubs, life skills and listening services for under 16s
Wednesdays one to one interventions - listening services
Thursdays 5pm-9pm youth clubs, life skills and listening services for 16- 19 year old

FAITH BASED ETHOS
The charity was founded by a local church called Grace Church in 2014 along with the like minded members of the community who wanted to see love, faith and acceptance flourish in our community and a desire to see this start with young people. The media would like to portray that this generation is broken, damaged and anxious beyond repair but we know that the opposite is true, young people are brilliant, resilient, full of life and potential and our goal is to give the young people of Dunfermline a place to shine and grow in a safe space where staff and volunteers believe in them and want them to win at every opportunity, nurturing self esteem, aspirations and inspiring hard work to embrace natural talents and create moments of love and kindness by fostering environments of positive praise, community and celebration.
OPEN TO ALL
All young people are welcome in Heart and Sound and made to feel welcome from any background or walk of life.
